DVR’s and TiVo’s may be great for recording TV shows and fast-forwarding through commercials but wouldn’t it be great if commercials could be completely skipped from recorded TV? Well, there is a way now through the advances in modern computing. Just follow the steps below and you should be well on your way to commercial free programming within a few hours.
*This hack requires a Windows Media Center PC but if your already using one as a DVR then this is your chance to show off the power of your PC.*
- Head over to (www.babgvant.com) and download the DVRMS Toolbox. (There are two versions of this program for XP/Vista)
- Install the app and make sure you check the boxes for all 3 of the optional components during setup. (Optional components list: ShowAnalyzer, DVRMSFileWatcher, Commercial Skip Add-In)

- Any new recordings after installation of DVRMS will be commercial free but for recordings made prior to the new software when you play the recording you will have the option of processing the video for commercial free viewing.
- DVRMS Toolbox also has options that allow you to convert recordings in the background but if you want to set that up it will require some extra time and reading over at the wiki (www.babgvant.com/wiki)
